Don't waste your money

This was so disappointing. I had listened to Chalene Johnson's podcast featuring Melissa and couldn't wait to read the book. I respect Chalene- love her work-outs and the quality of information she shares through her podcasts and her other social media outlets including Facebook and Instagram. I expected the same quality of information from this book. There was so much missing, most of all a thorough explanation of her plan. The book is named The M.A.D.E. Diet and yet in the testimonials it is referred to as HFLC lifestyle without explanation. $10 for a 50 page pamphlet of vague and sometimes contradictory information. I thought that perhaps her FB page or Instagram would have more helpful information or details. Not the case. Mostly a plethora of selfies. I get it. Seeing her on the PiYo dvd got my attention. She is certainly ripped so hearing her featured on the podcast motivated me to check out her book. I am 51 years old and have been studying diet, fitness and nutrition for years. There are so many other exceptional resources available- books, podcasts, etc that are much more professionally produced and include scientific data to back up their claims. I was really looking forward learning more about her experience with a higher fat, low-carb, whole foods diet but was left frustrated with many more questions than answers given. I was stunned that it took 15 minutes to read "cover to cover". I have paid less for incredible novels that are a few hundred pages long. SO much more could have been explained. Toward the end of the book she offers a grocery list which lists 37 total items, 3 of which are different forms of eggs: Organic Free Range Chicken Eggs, Organic Free Range Hard Boiled Eggs, Organic Free Range Eggs- Deviled. This is a grocery list?? Only a few vegetables are randomly listed. Why did she choose these and not others? Melissa states that she does not encourage the use of dairy with the exception of full fat cream, grass-fed butter or a few hard cheeses, yet cheddar, bleu and feta cheeses all made the list without any further explanation given. I don't believe I've ever written a review before so this says something that I felt strongly enough to take the time to communicate this. Save your $, people.

Sales pitch

This is a far cry from a "book". It's not even 50 pages, typos all over the place, incorrect grammar and in the end, just a sales pitch for a product she is selling.
She writes things like "I won't get into it, I hope you'll do your own research..." But that's kinda why I paid $10 for this "book"
